DC traction circuit breaker test

The maintenance of DC circuit breaker metro or train networks is a tedious task. Testing the short-circuit current level threshold is usually performed in dedicated power workshop facility and requires breaker dismantling and transportation. The test in the field is even generally not possible due to the large power requirement of the testing equipment as well as its bulky size and cumbersome weight to install in more and more compact substations.

Based on recent technology breakthrough, the IDC20K brings an innovative solution by making it possible to perform the breaker test into the substation with a limited need of power. Even the narrow subway cubicles are accessible thanks to a very compact, modular and hand-transportable packaging. Test Currents up to 20 000 A makes IDC20K a perfect solution for in-situ testing of DC breakers for train, tramway, metro or trolley infrastructures.
